The reason we feel stuck in our identity has to do with not understanding what it is to have the image and likeness of God. When you begin to understand something, the real truth will set you free. In John 8:32, Jesus said “and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free”, Jesus was referring to His teaching here. And those who would follow His teaching would lead to a deeper understanding of spiritual truth that leads to freedom. It is truly vital that we understand the genesis of God's purpose for creating us. The reason people struggle with whatever crisis, and let's call it an identification crisis now, is because we don't understand God's vision in our lives. When God created mankind (Genesis 1:26-28) He spoke instructions into mankind’s existing of what their task will be on this earth, who they are in Christ. So, when Adam came into existence, he knew who he was and what his task was because he knew who his Creator was apart from that he lived in the presence of His Creator and because of that he understood whom he was, because when he saw God, he saw himself. We were made to live in His image and likeness, even the Bible state at Jesus return He will come to seek Himself (John 17:21 ). You see, God speaks life into your life every day (not only by bread will one live but also by every word that comes out of the mouth of God), but because we have forgotten our first love, we do not get around to accomplishing our daily tasks to which God has called us. The question now is: do you understand the “Why” of why you were created? And so, what does God's vision for you and your generation look like?
